Mira Costa Girls Volleyball honored its 11 amazing seniors at a Senior Night event filled with cheers and tears prior to taking the court against Culver City High School in Mira Costa’s gym on October 9. The ceremony highlighted each senior who was then joined by their family on court. Following a video montage of their time in the program, the seniors took the court to beat Culver City in three sets.

Congrats to our 11 super seniors!

Congrats to our Costa Varsity team on being Back-to-Back Champions of the prestigious Costa/Redondo Molten Tournament, which was hosted this past weekend (October 6-8) at Mira Costa and Redondo Union high schools. All Tournament Team honors went to Mustangs Bryn Shankle and Audrey Flanagan, and the Tournament MVP went to Charlie Fuerbringer. Way to go girls and coaches!

Congratulations to our Varsity squad for their 2nd Place finish at the Durango Classic in Las Vegas, the most prestigious and competitive high school volleyball event in the country! After sweeping their pool, they defeated Bishop Alemany (25-6, 27-29, 25-17) to advance to the Championship Division. In the playoff bracket, Mira Costa swept Huntington Beach (25-17, 25-20) and Cathedral Catholic (25-17, 25-19) to advance to the finals, where they fell to rival Mater Dei (18-25, 25-20, 25-21)—the team that Costa swept at home in August.

Congrats are also in order for Senior Charlie Fuerbringer, Sophomore Audrey Flanagan and Junior Taylor Deckert who were selected to the All-Tournament Team!
